The International Morphological Association (IMA) unites scientists and educators from the CIS countries working in various fields of the morphological science: anatomy, histology, embryology, topographic anatomy, veterinary morphology, anthropology, cytology, etc. She was the legal successor of the All-Union Society of Anatomists, Histologists and Embryologists and was founded in 1992 in Smolensk at the I Congress of the IAM.
